
Tournament Rules & Regulations
All Hockey Canada playing rules in addition to the following:

Teams must be ready to start 10 minutes before scheduled game time.

Teams will be granted a 2-minute on-ice warm up.

Ice will be cleaned after the conclusion of each game.

All games will be 10-10-12 for period length.

A 5-member coaching staff (one of which must include a trainer) will be allowed on the bench at any time during the game.

Only players whose name appears on the first game sheet and whom have participated in at least 1 round robin game will be eligible to play in a playoff or championship game.

Maximum of 18 players per team to be registered on the first game sheet, 2 of which shall be goalies.

If a team chooses to dress only 1 goaltender and he/she gets injured that team would have 5-10 minutes to dress a new goalie or the game can continue and that team will play with 6 skaters and no goalie.

Full protective equipment must be properly worn at all times on ice surface.

Mercy Rule: Running time will commence after a 5-goal difference in the 3rd period. Stop time resumes if difference is less then 5 goals at any point in the game. The maximum goal difference for plus/minus will be 7.

Time out: one-30 second time out per team will be granted in the gold & bronze medal games. NO TIME OUTS IN ROUND ROBIN or SEMI-FINALS.

Overtime in the semi-final and final: A) 5 minute 3 on 3 period, B) Shootout - i) best of three in shootout, ii) sudden death. No player may take a second shot until all skaters have had a shot.

Points will be awarded on basis of 2-1-0 (Win-Tie-Loss).

No player can play on two teams, players must be on only one roster

Any coach ejected from a game will receive a 1 game suspension.

Any suspension will be determined by Tournament Convenor. A fighting penalty will result in an automatic 3 game suspension.

A player receiving a minor checking from behind penalty will be ejected from the game. A 5 min. major will be an automatic ejection from the game.

Any player receiving a gross 5 min. major penalty will receive a 2 game suspension.

A 5 min major penalty will result in an automatic 1 game suspension.

Minor penalties 2 minutes and major penalties 5 minutes.

All forfeited games will count, and non-played games will be scored as 7-0.

Round robin tiebreaker (in order of priority): A) the winner of the game between the 2 tied teams (doesn’t apply if 3 teams or more are tied); B) greater of the positive difference between goals for and goals against; C) most wins; D) fewest goals against; E) team with fewest penalties; F) coin toss.

It is the team's responsibility to fill out their game sheet a minimum of 10 minutes before the scheduled game time.

Punctuality: teams are responsible to confirm their next game with the Tournament Convenor after each game.

The Tournament Convenor decisions shall be final in interpreting the Rules and Regulations.
